Are you ready to invest?
Do you understand you money? If not, go back to the section on cash flow.
Do you have a rainy day and sunny day funds? If not, go back to cash flow and find out what expenses you can redirect to savings.
Do you have proper insurance in place so that you've limited your financial risks? If not, meet with your insurance agent for advice.
Do you have an up-to-date will and Power of Attorney for medical and financial matters? If not, meet with your estate planning attorney.
Is your debt paid off? If not, pay it off before investing. Leveraging debt to invest in the market has the potential for success and failure.
My guidance is to delay investing until after you have money set aside for emergencies and upcoming purchases, the right insurance coverage, an estate plan and your debt is paid off.
